Our Story
Castle Quest Chess began with a simple idea: to share the love and benefits of chess with the community. What started as a small group of enthusiasts has now evolved into a premier chess academy, offering a wide range of programs, classes, and events. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive curriculum, expert instructors, and the success stories of our students.
Our Founder
Dr. Omkar Shelke
Dr. Omkar Shelke, founder of Castle Quest Chess, is a passionate chess educator, FIDE International rated player, and a qualified Dentist from Pune, India. At just 24, he brings a unique combination of academic excellence and deep chess expertise to the table.
With over 12 years of playing experience and 7+ years of coaching, Omkar has proudly represented India at prestigious events like the World and Asian Amateur Chess Championships, proving his commitment to excellence on the global stage.
His journey from a competitive player to a dedicated coach has been driven by a mission to mentor and inspire learners of all ages and skill levels. Omkar’s coaching style is structured, engaging, and designed to make a lasting impact.
Through Castle Quest Chess, he aims to build a vibrant learning community where chess serves as a powerful medium to develop critical thinking, discipline, and confidence.
